when i have outbreaks (usually 1 every 2-4 years, lasting an entire month) it’s so bad, that keeping it dry is not an option. #1: it’s so big, when it dries, it starts to bleed. my crotch literally bleeds. #2 it’s so painful, an d wearing anything, including underwear is not an option. against my doctors wishes, i use neosporin extra strength w/ pain relief (ointment, NOT the cream), and wrap it in tissue, taped w/ a band aid…sounds complicated, but gauze sticks to the herpes, and at least, i can put underwear on. it’s horrible, and i don’t wish this on anybody. but dry doesn’t work for me. i must be one of the lucky ones.
