Men’s sexual health
In spite of all the progress in medical science over the previous decades, the basic fact remains that women, on average, outlive men by seven years. Moreover, there are several quality-of-life concerns that most men want addressed. A few of the things that come readily to mind are alopecia, gynecomastia, androgen deficiency, performance-enhancing steroids, BPH, scrotal disorders, and erectile dysfunction.
Men’s health has been minimized to a very low level of concern and there are several issues that are being ignored. The more apparent issues revolve around the reproductive and the sexual categories, these being caused by lack of education, incorrect habit and improper nutrition. The emotional tendencies of men also pose as significant issues as men are less likely to admit to psychological problems such as anxiety and depression and are much more likely to end their lives than are their women counterparts.
The need for men’s awareness on their health is highly indispensable since it would greatly improve the quality and quantity of their lives. More importantly, education about essential health care can effectively promote positive behavioral changes among men, which are already being undertaken by women. Hence, knowledge, early detection and treatment of health problems affecting men are key here. Sexual health, for one, is an important area to consider.
