Sex education had always been viewed as a complex issue. Every individual has a different opinion when this topic is being discussed. Some would say that sex education must not be taught in schools. Others would say that sex education is the remedy of the nation against teenage pregnancies and from acquisition of sexually transmitted diseases. How about you, what do you think?
Recently, I have read an article about a thirteen year old boy who impregnated his fifteen year old girlfriend. I know this may not be new to your ears but how would you feel if you were the parent of the thirteen year old boy? If that boy had even just a bit of knowledge about safe sex and contraception could that occurrence have been prevented? It is indeed possible.
Teaching sex education in schools or even at home has a number of advantages. It helps our youngsters become aware of the consequences of practicing unsafe sex. Still, teaching sex education must begin at home. Kids must learn it from their parents firsthand. Learning about sex education in schools will give them a deeper understanding regarding this topic. This type of knowledge will also help them make wise decisions when faced with compromising situations.
