According to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, sex is a physiologic need. It is as important as food and water. Literally, it is a key factor in life needed for human survival. But of course to be sexually fit, it entails a physically healthy body. So what does this mean? Everything still boils down to the basics of feeding the human body with the right diet and nutrition to gives us the energy and stamina to enjoy sex in every possible way.
Better food habits can help you be healthier. Diet and nutrition for a sexual fit body is practically the same diet for any person trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Eating a variety of nutrient rich foods that are rich in vitamins, fiber, minerals, and others but are less in calories is a must. Examples of these foods are vegetables and fruits, fat-free and low dairy products, unrefined whole grains and fish with omega-3 such as salmon or trout.
There are tons of mouth-watering recipes available online or on health books. These menus accounts for a complete and well-balanced diet. Here is an example of a menu for an entire day. This menu only takes about ten to thirty minutes preparation time for each meal.
- For breakfast: A cup of fresh strawberries topped with 1/2 cup cottage cheese with 1 table spoon of sunflower seeds and a slice of toasted whole grain bread.
- For lunch: 3 cups of any salad greens drizzled with 2 tablespoons of walnut oil and 2 ounces of organic meat patty served on a whole grain roll bread.
- For dinner: 1/2 cup of whole wheat spaghetti topped two ounces of ground turkey cooked in 1/4 cup of marinara sauce. 2 cups of salad greens drizzled with 2 teaspoons of flax oil.
Sex should be enjoyed in every possible way. And it is required that both partners must be physically, mentally, emotionally and if possible spiritually fit. And this would all start by feeding the body with the right diet and nutrition to fuel a sexually active life.
