It is important that you must know the signs of STD’s or sexually transmitted diseases since it can help you protect you and your partner’s health right away without spreading the infection just because you are not familiar with the symptoms. There are several sexually transmitted diseases which may include similar symptoms and it is imperative to note that only a doctor can properly diagnose a specific infection but, it is indeed best to take precautions. Here are the symptoms;

- Painful urination

- Open sores in the genital area or near the mouth, hands or other body parts that may come into contact with you or your partner’s genitals

- Painful intercourse

- Itching

- Unusual vaginal or urethral discharge

However, not all of these symptoms are necessarily connected to STD’s but sexually active individuals who notice any of these proper precautions to protect themselves and their partners until an accurate diagnosis can be made. In addition to that, the symptoms may not appear for weeks or months after an individual has been infected and it is essential to note whether one’s partner may be exhibiting signs of an infection as well.
