Women spend a lot of money in order to improve their looks, try their best to become more attractive to men by wearing stylish clothes, shoes and accessories, applying make-up, going to the gym regularly to maintain a slim figure, have a makeover at the salon and others have even tried plastic surgery just for vanity’s sake and self-improvement! However, some things have remained overlooked. Issues regarding women’s sexual health are usually taken for granted. This should not be the case.
There are a number of reasons why a lot of women have kept mum about their sexuality. Some of them don’t want to talk about these issues because they are shy, others don’t want to be criticized and be compared to others, some view talking about their sexuality as improper and downgrading.
Women’s sexual health involves several factors. These are; desire, pleasure, orgasm, medications and supplements, gynecological concerns, pain during intercourse, menopause, menstruation and breast health, infertility, pregnancy and child birth, masturbation, body image and contraception. These factors affect women in a lot of ways that they fail to notice.
In this sex infested world, almost everybody is sexually active and women are not excluded. Yet, some remain ignorant regarding their sexual health. Many women fail to feel pleasure and attain orgasm during or after intercourse. Some do not know what products to use for birth control and contraception, what to do when faced with gynecological concerns. They don’t know whom to talk to when they are experiencing these sexual health issues.
Gladly, information regarding women’s sexual health issues are now available and within reach. The information highway, which is the internet, is one of the most convenient ways to get women informed. Reading books and magazines is also a way to go. Discussing these issues with close friends or with family members can also be a form of help. If one feels shy to discuss these personal matters then setting a schedule with a doctor or counselor can solve the problem. By doing so, one may not only avoid future sexual health problems but also protect oneself from further serious health problems.
